- Bal Bhawan : The absorbent mind is at its peak during the pre school years. Children under six are innately curious and need to explore and discover. They are keenly attuned to everything that stimulates their senses (shapes, sounds, smells, textures, tastes) and do much of their learning by touching and manipulating the objects around them. Gyan Vihar Kindergarten classrooms are designed to allow the children to move, touch manipulate and explore, giving them the freedom to choose their own activities under the guidance of the teachers. Our classroom is a living room for our children, with furniture of different theme and materials scaled to fit the pre schooler’s physical dimensions.
As in the Pre School, the materials play a significant role in the learning process. We provide bright arrays of solid geometric forms, knobbed puzzle maps, colored beads, metal insets and various specialized rods and blocks. Our Kindergarten is a place for learning the skills of daily living (i.e. polishing, pouring, zipping, buckling, typing, folding, fastening nuts and bolts of varying sizes). At the same time our stress is on their concentration, independence, cognitive order, task organization, Self discipline and fine motor skills as precursors to writing. The child is introduced to the phonetic alphabet, begins reading simple words and progress to sentence building spelling and composition.
